MARCHAM SOCIETY PROGRAMME


Our annual programme runs from 1st September to 31st July
Information on talks, other events and outings including
Midweek Walks will be sent out regularly to members by email.


The 2025-26 programme

Unless otherwise announced, talks will take place in the Main Hall
at Marcham Centre. Doors open at 7.30 for 7.45pm start.

Thursday 2nd: Midweek Walk from The Plough Inn at Finstock 12.30 

Wednesday 15th: Astronomy Meeting 7.30 Small Hall, Marcham Centre
"Steeple Aston Observatory" a talk by Tim Haymes

Thursday 23rd: Guided Tour of Combe Mill 1pm 

Monday 27th: “The Wildlife of Radley Lakes” by David Guyoncourt

May

Thursday 7th: Midweek Walk (White Hart, Dorchester on Thames at 12.30)

Wednesday 6th: Wallingford Research Establishment 10.30am

Saturday 9th: The Big Marcham Weekend from 12 noon

Wednesday 13th: Astronomy Meeting 7.30 Small Hall, Marcham Centre
                          “Challenges, Triumphs and Disasters” by Eric Dunford

Monday 25th: Members’ evening in the Main Hall. Two short talks:

- "Smocks and Smocking: rural craft or local industry?" by Sally Kingsley

- "The History of Rycote Chapel" by Ricky Smith

June 

Thursday 4th: Midweek Walk 12.30

Monday 22nd: "Oxfordshire: a way with Waste" A talk by Paul Dumpleton

July

Thursday 2nd: Midweek Walk 12.30

Saturday 11th: Annual BBQ at the Bothy 5 pm (more information to follow)
